Backgammon ("the App") is developed by Asa Block. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your choices.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Apple Game Center — Online multiplayer matchmaking and player authentication. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
PostHog — Anonymous product analytics (gameplay events, screen views). No personally identifiable information is sent. See PostHog's Privacy Policy.
Sentry — Crash reporting and error tracking. May include device information and Game Center display name in error reports. See Sentry's Privacy Policy.

Local Data

Player names and game settings are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to any server.

Online Multiplayer

When you play online, game state (board position, dice rolls, moves) is exchanged between players through Apple's Game Center infrastructure. Your Game Center display name is visible to your opponent.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App does not contain advertising, in-app purchases, or links to social networks.

Data Retention

Analytics data is retained by PostHog and Sentry according to their respective retention policies. We do not maintain a separate database of user information.

Your Choices

You can limit data collection by:

Disabling Game Center in your device's Settings to prevent online multiplayer data sharing
Using your device's network settings to restrict the App's internet access

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
